Supporting Pregnant and Parenting FAMILIES
Excel's vision for healthy youth reaches far outside the classroom! Healthy Families America (HFA) is in place to empower pregnant and parenting families to achieve their full potential. Below are services provided:
Help mothers/family find a medical home, assistance completing Medical applications, WIC and other needed services
Transportation assistance to prenatal and well baby check ups as well as required immunizations
Education on child development and positive parenting practices
Aid and support in continuing/completing educational aspirations (High School, College, Trade School, etc.)
Crisis intervention and help transitioning into independent living
Support in obtaining childcare, assistance in childcare enrollment and accessing other resources as needed
Healthy Families have group meetings once a month with all the families. Families receive FREE diapers/wipes for attending meetings and gas cards if they find their own transportation to the meeting
A Mommy Store is also available for families who keep their visits and come to group meetings - Families will receive "mommy bucks" to shop in our store for things such as:
Diapers, wipes, books, safety kits, baby clothes etc
